Farewell Campout

As per tradition, all the LDS podiatry families had a farewell campout at the John Johnson Farm the week after graduation. The weather was uncharacteristically frigid for May, but we all still had a great time.

The kids loved wandering around the campsite:

Everyone eating dinner and chatting around the fire:

A big part of the campout tradition is burning the "student" white coats, symbolic of the end of school and the beginning of "doctorhood"!

We didn't stay the night since we are leaving in a couple days for our vacation in Idaho, but it was still fun to stay for dinner and hang out one last time. We've had a great four years with these guys, and it was so sad to say "goodbye" (or "see you later"). We wish you all the very best in your various residencies and beyond!

Grammy & Poppy's Visit

We were so happy to have a visit with Travis' parents while they were here for graduation. We actually spent a lot of time just hanging out, but we did see a few sights around town as well during their short stay.

After graduation, his parents took us out to one of our favorite restaurants--Danny Boys--for some delicious pizza, then later that night we hit up a yummy local ice cream spot for dessert. I think we were all sad we hadn't gone there many times before!

We thought it'd be fun to take Grammy and Poppy to the kiddie park and have one last hurrah there (while we used up the rest of our tickets we'd bought a few years before).

Waving to Grammy and Poppy from the carousel:

Bethany LOVED the carousel and rode it a few times:

This was Bethany's first time going on any of the rides other than the carousel (as she'd been too young last summer to), and it was so fun to watch her enjoy them! The boats are always a favorite of Graces.

Checking out her ticket with Grammy:

Space ship ride:

Rocket ride. "We're going to go up dad!"

Zoom, zoom!

All of us "got aboard" for the train ride, another favorite.

 Car ride:

Riding in the surrey with the fringe on the top :)

Bethany chose to use her last couple tickets on a couple rides on the carousel...

While Grace chose to take Grammy for a ride on the rollercoaster. I was worried she'd be terrified, but she had a blast! I was so proud of my big girl!

We also thought it'd be fun to do a post-birthday celebration for Grace and Poppy, since they'd both just had their birthdays. It was neat to see them blowing out the candles together.

While they were here, we also went to our neighborhood park to play.
I just love how Bethany's swinging with her bear. Melts my heart.

And we took a quick trip out to Youngstown so Travis' parents could see our new house, the hospital Travis will be working at, and eat some lunch at Bob Evan's (a must on every visit).

Our cute new house! More pictures to come in the future I'm sure!

My quick (crooked) picture out the window of Northside Medical Center, where Travis will be doing his residency:

Oh, and we ate these delicious raspberry white chocolate scones as a farewell breakfast...heaven. :)

Thanks again for coming to visit Grammy and Poppy! We can't wait to have you come out again to see us in our new house!
