So, I know that these pictures aren't exactly up-to-date, but...let's face it! I started this whole blog thing too late, and now I have all of these great pictures of us that I still want to show our family and friends. So, I'm going to post them anyway, and hopefully you will enjoy them!
Here we are on the ferry, traveling from Port
Angeles, WA to Victoria, Canada. We visited
various parts of Vancouver Island on our Honeymoon.
Our first stop: Sydney By the Sea. We had dinner
at a great little restaurant just a few yards from
where we took this picture...right on the water!
Messing around in Sydney.
This is a view of part of the backyard at the first
Bed-n-Breakfast that we stayed at, the Three
Eagles Inn. We LOVED staying at the BnB's!
The hosts there were wonderful, the scenery
beautiful, the ambiance romantic, and the
breakfasts scrumptious!
This is a view of the water from about 5 minutes
away from our BnB. Beautiful, huh? Trav said
that the drive along the island reminded him
very much of Grangeville (his home town). Lots
of tree-lined roads.
We toured Craigdorroch Castle in Victoria, B.C.
It was very ornate, with neat woodwork and
beautiful stained glass windows. It was cool to
see how the very rich of the late 1800's lived
and entertained. Built in 1890.
Our last day there, we went beach combing at
Muir and China Beach in Sooke.
Trav loved it! We went to two different beaches,
and enjoyed looking for various sea life, which
we found, and admiring the scenery. Here we
are at Muir Beach.
Travis doing his half of the Lewis and Clark pose.
My glamour shot.
Among the sea life we found was an
almost dead clam. So we took it upon
ourselves to open it up and see what
was inside...kinda neat, kinda gross.
(And no, we didn't actually eat it).
Trav set up the camera on timer so we could
get this shot. He had to run quickly over the
rocks to get there in time (kinda funny to watch),
but it worked...the picture turned out great!
We went to the famous Buchart Gardens in
Victoria. It was beautiful. They had a sunken
garden, an Italian garden, a rose garden, and a
Japanese garden (which Travis really enjoyed,
and said was very authentic looking). They
also had entertainment, totem poles, and two
beautiful fountains.
Here's a view of the sunken garden.
The second BnB that we stayed at was in Sooke.
It was called the Straitview Ridge, and the
picture below explains why! This picture was
taken from the balcony just outside our room.
It was a gorgeous view!
We loved this BnB!!! The hostess was very nice
and informative, and the inn was beautiful. I
highly recommend anyone to stay there!
Here we are at the Legislative Building in Victoria.
We hung out here for a couple hours before we
had to get back on the ferry and head home.
Victoria is a beautiful city--very well kept, with
several pretty parks and gardens, like the one
in front of this building.
We had a wonderful time on our honeymoon!!
