Happy 8 months to us!

Today is Travis and I's 8 month anniversary. (I think that the dude at Cold Stone who served us on our 3 or 4 month anniversary would be proud=)). My, how time flies. And at the same time, I feel like I have known Travis forever! I am grateful to my Heavenly Father every day for the blessing of having such a WONDERFUL and AMAZING husband. To honor him for our 8 months together, here is a list of 8 things I really love about him (though I could go on and on):
1. He is helpful (most women would pay big money for the amount of housework this man does! He is wonderful about this!)
2. He is thoughtful (It's not uncommon to get a shoulder rub, an offer of help, or a love note from him on any given day)
3. He is loving (I get multiple hugs, kisses, and "I love you's" everyday)
4. He is selfless (He is an example to me of what true love is)
5. He is faithful (in 2 ways--one, I never have reason to feel jealous, and two he is great about making sure we have our family prayers and scripture study everyday)
6. He is fun and funny (what more can I say?)
7. He is amazingly attractive (boy howdy!),and has the most gorgeous eyes
8. He has integrity (he is honest with others and works hard to do his best in everything).
And above all, he is mine! I love you Travis, and am so happy and grateful that I get to be with you forever! Thank you for being my husband and the man of my dreams. I LOVE YOU!!! Happy anniversary, my love.

News

So, what is new with us? Not much, but here it is:
Jenny has been accepted as a University Studies Major (yea for having only 2 more semesters!).
Travis went on his first job shadow with an optometrist and learned some new things (way to go Trav!).
Travis' birthday is only two days away, and we're so excited to celebrate it with his family.
There are only 4 weeks left of the semester, and then we get to go hiking in Kirkwood and visit Jenny's parents. Along with this, there are only a few projects and tests left in the semester.
The weather is finally warming up, and the sun is shining. The temperature reached almost 40 degrees today.
I got a really great deal on a gorgeous necklace from our cousin Jenn Owens ($6 for a $98 necklace. I felt like Rachel with one of her great deals =) ).
and...
We've been married for over 7 months now!
So, there's a quick update. Hopefully the summer semester will be a little slower, so we'll be more on top of our posts!
Love you all!

Our Second Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day, me and Travis decided to recreate one of our
first dates--To go out to Arby's for dinner and then Cold Stone Creamery for dessert.
Still, we weren't sure what we wanted to get for each other.
(We kept saying,"I don't know what I'm going to do for you" in exasperated
tones, the days prior to Valentines.) So, you can imagine my surprise when I got home from a long day of school and work to find some special surprises from my sweet
husband! As you can see, he put some red and pink balloons in our living room...

And strung them across the window...
And over our piano...
And put them up next to our bed (this really made me smile)...

Then left me the sweetest card (which was pretty darn creative)...

And got me some long stem roses (two for two Valentine's Days together)!!!

It goes without saying that I was very pleasantly surprised!

Thank you Travis for your sweet gifts and for being my sweet husband.
I'm glad that you're my eternal valentine. I LOVE YOU!!!
Now, as all women know, men are very hard to buy for. I knew that Travis wouldn't want flowers, and that it would take him forever to eat any candy I bought for him. Plus, I knew that acts of service were more meaningful to him than gifts or romantic words. So, I decided to give him the gift of a weeks worth of things I would do for him...A Valentine's Week. He'd just have to pick a day, and I would do a certain act. I know it might seem like a cop out, but I did put a lot of thought into it, and, in the end, Trav said it was a wonderful gift, so I was pleased.

Hope you all had a happy day of love!

Hey all. This is Travis. I have a pretty cool organic chemistry teacher and he likes to show us dumb videos if we have time leftover in class. Here's one that I think we all can relate to. Its called "Procrastination." Enjoy.

Snow...

I don't think I've ever experienced so much snow in such a short period of time. All of you who have lived in Southeastern Idaho, however, can probably comprehend. We got almost a foot of snow one night last week, and in the past week or so, it has seemed to never stop snowing. We have even had a couple of blizzards. Luckily, the past two days have been nice. We just wanted to document how very snowy it has been for us here.

The narley icicles outside our bedroom window:

Here is our snow-ladened apartment complex:
(I mean, really, look at those piles of snow!)

Here is a view of our driveway.

A neighbor's car, showing off the recent
snow fall.

What I wouldn't give some days to be visiting my parents in Tucson, AZ.

A few of my favorite things

I had been reading Rachel's post of "Her Favorite Things"/"Love Is", hoping to do a similar thing, but never getting around to doing it on a regular basis. So, this post is about just that--What I, Jenny, think love is, and what my favorite things are. So, here goes:

A few of my favorite things:
1. Fridays.
2. The luxury of sitting and not having to think or worry about anything; to just watch the world move around you for a moment.
3. Beautiful sunsets.
4. Tide-to-go pens (they even work on 6 mo old stains on your wedding dress--a miracle product).
5. Clean jeans lovingly laundered by your husband.
6. Sleeping in.
7. Cleaning the house or making dinner just before Travis gets home.
8. Walking around in Hallmark or scrapbook stores and just looking at everything.
9. Getting a present for someone that I think they'll really like.
10. Putting on a new outfit for the first time.
11. Red Robin hamburgers and fries.
12. Girl talk.
13. Sitting by the ocean.
14. Squeezing Travis tight.
15. Shoulder rubs.
16. Getting pampered at the salon.
17. Reading a good book.
18. Being in the celestial room and knowing that families can be forever.

Love is...
Doing the dishes.
Giving a back massage.
Soft kisses.
Little notes left around the house.
Making dinner.
Grabbing you a glass of water.
Stroking your hair.
Paying attention.
Laughing at your cheesy joke.
Giving you a chance to win the game.
Holding your hand.
Watching a chick flick/action movie.
Warming up the car.
Tucking you in.
A sincere compliment.
Opening your car door.
Praying for you to do well on your test.
Saying: "I forgive you," "I appreciate you," "I love you."
