Bethany's Blessing

Our sweet Bethany Adelle Holloway was given a name and a blessing at our Church (in the Cleveland 1st Ward) on November 20th. Travis gave her the blessing, and was joined in the circle by my dad and some of our other friends in the Ward (Kory Miskin, Brian Freeman, Kevin Riddles, Travis Branch, Matt Hammond, and Bishop Shaw). It was a very sweet, and touching experience, and Travis gave her a beautiful blessing. We were so glad my parents were able to be here for it.

Here are some pictures of our beautiful girl in her blessing dress (the same one Grace wore):

Her little eyelids curl up like this when she smiles, and I adore it!

We love you Bethany and are so glad you're a part of our family!

Running Blog

Hey everyone, this is Travis. Just wanted to put in a little plug here for the Holloway brothers' running blog. We've been getting more and more posts lately and my brothers are pretty entertaining writers. The website is hollowayrunning.blogspot.com. Some of the posts are reports from various races we've done, some are stories of other non-competitive runs, some posts are informative, and some are just for fun. If you like Holloways or you like running, you'll enjoy reading the blog. Thanks, and I'll see you at the Holloway Running blog!

Trick or Treat!

We had a great time celebrating Halloween TWICE this year!
The first time was at our Ward's Halloween party, which was held the Friday before Halloween.
I entered the Ward's pumpkin carving contest, so Travis and I spent the night before the party perfecting our pumpkin creations. Carving pumpkins is one of the few times each year where I really put my creative juices to use, and this year I fashioned my design after my Halloween earrings. Here are Travis' and my creations (Travis' on right, mine on left):

All lit up:
Doesn't this just make you smile?

They turned out pretty good, huh?!

We also dressed up for the party (and by "we" I mean Travis and Grace. I wasn't about to search for a costume that would fit my very pregnant physique.) They went as Calvin and Hobbes, and I thought it turned out so cute!

Our adorable Hobbes giving me a smile:

Grace was very concerned about her baby having a costume for the party as well. It was so sweet!

We had prepped Grace for Halloween by explaining trick or treating protocol ("So, you go up to the person's house or car trunk, and say "trick or treat!," then the people will give you some candy, and then you say "thank you!"), and she would shake and laugh with excitement every time we talked about it. Travis took her trunk or treating at the party, and she did a great job of saying "trick or treat" and "thank you." It was so fun to see her and Travis walk from car to car as I passed out candy. She still talks about trunk or treating that night, and all of the kids and cars that were there, and how you say "thank you" when people give you candy; cracks me up.

The 2nd celebration was Halloween night itself. Travis had to work late at clinic that night, so Grace and I made an evening of it. We went out to Cici's Pizza for dinner (where we gorged ourselves on pizza and cinnamon rolls), then came home and went trick or treating in our neighborhood. It was such as sweet experience to walk up and down the street with her, holding her hand, and hear her say "trick or treat" and "thank you," and have people exclaim about what a cute tiger she was. Holidays sure do get more and more fun as your kids get older.
We had a great Halloween x 2!
