Summer

Here are some pictures of what we've been up to so far this summer.

We went to a kiddie park with Grace and her cousins. She thought the horse was fun until it started moving. Then we decided just to sit on a bench for the rest of the carousel ride.

Jenny and Grace on a train ride at the kiddie park.

We recently found a great deal on a HUGE tent. Here it is.

I'm not sure the pictures really show how big this tent is, but if you come visit us in Cleveland you can see it for yourself.

Here are some pictures of Grace at a park that she and Jenny often walk to.

The last few pics are of Grace hanging out at home.

Grace's Birthday

We celebrated Grace's first birthday about a month ago. Here are some pictures of the occasion. We love our sweet Grace and can't believe she's already a year old. She's growing way too fast but we love watching her as she learns new things every day. Enjoy the pictures.

The Zoo

Last week I had the week off of school so we took advantage of it by doing fun things like going to the zoo. It was the first sunny day we had in a while and it is prime field trip season so it was pretty busy but we had a good time. Here are some pictures of our day at the zoo.

New Furniture

We found a nice couch on craigslist for a nice price...so we got it. The guy was also selling a chair that Jenny couldn't resist, so we got that too. Here are pics of our recent furniture upgrade.

Playdate

(Note: This is the 3rd post I've done in the last couple of days, so keep on scrolling if you want to catch up!)

Last Friday, Grace and I went on a playdate with the other podiatry student's wives and kids to Preston's Hope Playground in Beachwood. It was one fabulous playground! There were tons of fun things for the kids to do: themed kid-sized houses, swings, rocking toys, big play structures with slides, and even a big sandbox. This is definitely a playground we'll be coming back to!

Grace was all over the rocker toys, and promptly started rocking herself before I even showed her how to move on them. Rockin' baby, rockin' baby! =) It was too cute!

Taking a ride on the zebra:
The car rockers were her favorite though.
Watch out Cleveland! Grace is behind the wheel!

Silly face!

And a sweet smile. =)

Grace has been really into pointing lately (which is a huge help sometimes in communicating what she wants, especially at meal times).
Hanging out with a dinosaur. She sure loves to stand!

Swinging is something that she's starting to like more and more:

After a morning of playing and having a picnic lunch at the playground, several of us went to the White Flower Cake Shoppe for dessert.

It was cool to go here, because a few of their decorators had been featured in some cake challenges on the Food Network (which we love to watch).

Plus, their cakes were amazing! I got a chocolate cheesecake to share with Travis, and it was divine!

Thanks for the fun morning everyone! Let's do it again soon!

Easter Weekend 2010

Our Easter festivities this year began with a huge potluck dinner and egg hunt with the other podiatry student families in our ward. We had a great time visiting with the other families and enjoying some sunshine!

Though Grace was a little too young to do much hunting, she still thought the plastic eggs were pretty great!

Our Grace girl sure loves being outside...

...and spending time with dad!

I told you she likes dogs! Here she is getting some doggy kisses! =)

On the Saturday before Easter, we did our annual egg dying, with Brandon and Rachel and the kids. It was entertaining to watch the kids dye their eggs, and fun to see what designs everyone came up with.

Here were my creations:

We also did another egg hunt (because there isn't such a thing as too many). I love this girl!

I just love Grace's expression here as Jenna hands her the egg, like "Oh! Thank you!"

And on Sunday, we had an all-out, scrumptious Easter dinner with Brandon and Rachel, Danny and Crystal, and the kids. (Can you tell how much everyone wanted me to take the picture?)

Yum-o! Thanks for letting us share in your annual tradition guys!

With all of these fun activities, and with General Conference to enjoy as well, we had a wonderful Easter weekend. I am so grateful for the Resurrection of our Savior, and to have a day set apart to remember that He lives and to spend time with our family and friends. Happy Easter!
